Journey with Pele Retreat
   Big Island Hawai'i
January 7-11, 2026

Join Nina on the beautiful and sacred island of Hawai'i as we explore the Aina (land), the Ocean and Madame Pele.

A Journey of Transformation ~

This is a powerful and honest journey that brings us closer to the truth in our own hearts. It invites us to let go, to trust ourselves, and to listen to the quiet guidance within, as well as the wisdom shared by Tutu (Grandma) Pele, the land (‘Ä€ina), and the Ocean.

Sometimes, life brings us through intense change with moments that feel like fire, full of emotion and uncertainty. But there is a gift in this process. Pele, through her sacred fire, helps clear away what no longer serves us, what is not aligned with our truth.

What follows is often a quieter, more reflective time. We sit with what remains, taking in the guidance and letting it settle. In this space, clarity begins to grow, and from that place, something new begins to take root, stronger, clearer, and more aligned with who we truly are.

Retreat Flow ~

Once we arrive at our retreat hale (home), we’ll settle in and share our first meal together. We’ll gather for an opening ceremony with pule (prayers) to Tutu Pele and the ‘Ä€ina, and create our Ti leaf lei, which is sacred and protective in Hawaiian tradition.

As we weave our lei, we’ll offer our intentions and prayers for the journey ahead. These lei will be worn throughout our retreat and then offered back to Pele and the Aina with gratitude and prayer.

For the next three days, our mornings will be dedicated to ceremony and guided program, and in the afternoons, we’ll venture out for journeys and exploration to deepen our connection to the Aina, Pele, and ourselves.

On our final day, we’ll gather for a closing circle and breakfast before heading to the airport, carrying with us the insights, clarity, and transformation gifted by this sacred time together.

Option to stay an extra day to relax and receive amazing lomi lomi massage.

Journeys include:

Our first journey sees us along the Puna coast's red road through old growth jungle and fresh new lava flows. We will be visiting a park on the coast and have a chance to explore natural hot springs on some of the newest beaches and land in the world.

Our second journey is a trip to Rainbow Falls, to experience one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hawai'i. Then off to the Hilo's Farmers Market to shop for gifts. Followed by a swim on the Hilo coast in a safe ocean tide pool.

Our final journey takes us to Volcanoes National Park. We first take a magical hike through Kipuka Puaulu in an ancient rainforest. We then journey underground as we walk through the Thurston Lava Tubes. Our final destination is Kilauea crater and Halema'uma'u the home of Pele, to make our final offering to her on the edge of the live volcano.

Our meals are lovingly made with fruits and food grown

on the Island by local farms.

We will also be learning how to Kokua, (all working together) as a community

all sharing in meal prep and clean up.

We will take into consideration any food sensitivities.
