Ceremonial Drum Making Retreat For Practitioners
Horse Medicine
July 1-5, 2026
Join Nina and Mandy at the Earth And Star Sanctuary
and Farm in Colorado's Southwest,
for a Ceremonial Retreat in Nature.
Join us for a special ceremonial retreat for Practitioners.
(non-practitioners are welcome too... we will be learning by experiencing, all are welcome! )
Part 1: We will be diving into the sacred medicine that HORSE has to offer us. Learn to make a horse hide drum with materials from a no-kill sanctuary. Sit in sacred fire ceremony, as we learn about connecting to the energies and spirit of your drum. Once our drums are dried, we play our drums in a singing to life ceremony.

Part 2: Drum Journey. Experience a sacred drum journey deep to the earth as we ground and open to going within to receive visions, messages and connections to the spirit of Horse. Learn how to guide others with grounding meditations with the drum.

Part 3: Learn about Horse medicine. 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse. It is also a 1 year, the time for new beginnings.

Horse meets you where your spirit is. It mirrors what you carry. It refuses to lie to you. And when it chooses you, it reveals pathways between the seen and the unseen that cannot be accessed through force, only through reciprocity. Horse carries the medicine of truth and freedom. Horse helps you let go of past hurts, fears and mistakes that keep us in the past and brings in new beginnings, new emotions, new inspirations and a returning to yourself.

What a sweet, gentle, and powerfully transformative medicine!

We will spend our time sitting in nature, basking in the sun, feeling the wind on our faces, experiencing deep silence, and being amazed by the pure dark, star filled skies. Every morning there is a beautiful sunrise, and every evening a beautiful sunset.
Our evenings, we will sit around the fire, then sing and laugh and gaze at the stars.

Surrounded by mountains including The Spanish Peaks and the Sangre De Cristo mountain range, the sanctuary is raw high desert terrain and super high vibrational energy. There is wildlife that comes through, and some jackrabbits that live in the bushes. The birds sing all day long, and sometimes a wild horse wanders through, as well as herds of deer and elk.
Our Camping area has 10 cleared spots perfect for pitching a tent.
There is a clear path to the restroom area, and to the kitchen and water station.

Our current restroom has nice quality composting toilets, an outdoor water station for handwashing, and some solar showers. We will make sure these areas are private.

Our kitchen is an out door kitchen, where we can cook over a fire pit, the stone pizza oven, or propane stove. We will have water for cooking, kitchen washing, drinking, and showering.

NOTE: We are in the high desert of Southern Colorado. The great southwest! There is cacti. We do have a good amount of cactus on the land. Eventually there will be lovely paths to walk with no cactus, but for now, please bring boots or shoes with thick soles and take care of where you step.
